Just Listen, Trinity Lutheran Church, Brattleboro, VT, May 22, 2022 John 17: 20 Jesus prayed: “I pray for those who will believe in me, that all of them may be one…. That they may be one….That they may be brought into complete unity…” Where is it that we find our identity? We live in contentious times. Too often our identity is linked to our political and social views. If you disagree with my views, I take it personally and your disagreement becomes an attack on ME. Want unity…? Find your identity in Christ rather than in some political viewpoint. Listen. Say nothing. Do not get defensive. No arguments. Do not seek to correct. Just listen. Do not allow your ego and sense of self to be based on proving someone else as wrong. Live in Christ not political views. Third day living – seek unity. Find your self in Christ. Pastor Jon Heydenreich presides, joined by Jeff Herman-May as Assistant Minister, Lynne Stone as reader, and Marsha Heydenreich as musician. No matter who you are in your walk of faith, or where you are in that journey, you are invited to the communion table at Trinity Lutheran Church.
