Our Conditioning, Trinity Lutheran Church, Brattleboro, VT, October 30, 2022 John 8:32 Jesus taught, “If you hold to my teaching…. You will know the truth and the truth will set you free.” Pastor Jon delves into how our conditioning controls us. We absorb that conditioning from our upbringing and from our culture. In order to be happy we need to “look” a certain way, to live a certain lifestyle, to have a certain type of family structure. We are captive to our conditioning and the pressure of that conditioning can make us miserable. On this Reformation Sunday we remember that Martin Luther broke out of his conditioning to rediscover God's grace. Consider the ways that conditioning affects you. We can be free of our conditioning and be happy. Jesus said the place of peace is within us. God loves you as you are… do not allow that conditioning to be such a burden to peace. Pastor Jon Heydenreich presides assisted by Marsha Heydenreich, and joined by Kris Grotz-Kuch as assistant and lector, and Laura Josephs on piano.
