Description:

Jesus Restores Sight, Trinity Lutheran Church, Brattleboro, VT, May 1, 2022 Luke 4:18 Jesus said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me…. to proclaim the recovery of sight for the blind.” Jesus came to restore sight to the blind. When he meets the disciples as they walk toward Emmaus, he restores their sight and moves them out of grief into a realization that Christ is alive, there is blessing, there is goodness. Grief and sorrow drain us. That sorrow is akin to a mountain that stands before us and the mountain blocks out the Sun. We do not climb that mountain in a snap. Grief is not overcome in a moment. We need to climb, one step at a time. Climb, don’t sit. Be grateful for the steps you can take. See the blessings of the day. That is third day living. The promise of Easter is a promise that we have it in us to get to the top. Pastor Jon Heydenreich presides, joined by Kris Grotz-Kuch as Assistant Minister, Diane Hill as reader, and Marsha Heydenreich as musician. No matter who you are in your walk of faith, or where you are in that journey, you are invited to the communion table at Trinity Lutheran Church. Trinity Lutheran Church is an ELCA congregation, more or less traditional and relaxed, and a Reconciling in Christ congregation where all are welcome.
