- The words said at an Ash Wednesday service "Remember you are dust, and to dust you shall return" are jolting. It is not every day that someone looks you in the eye and reminds you that you will die. The words "to dust you shall return" confronts us with the reality of our finite existence. We confront the questions "What am I going to do with my day", and the deeper question, "Am I wasting my life?"
- The imposition of ashes on Ash Wednesday begins the Lenten period. Many people have work and school obligations making Wednesday a difficult day to attend church, so we at Trinity Lutheran decided to impose ashes today, we call it "Ash Sunday".
- Pastor Jon Heydenreich presides, assisted by Kris Grotz-Kuch, joined by Gene Kuch as reader and Laura Josephs on piano.
- No matter who you are in your walk of faith, or where you are in that journey, you are invited to the communion table at Trinity Lutheran Church. Trinity Lutheran Church is an ELCA congregation, more or less traditional and relaxed, and a Reconciling in Christ congregation where all are welcome.
