Free Yourself, Be Healed, Trinity Lutheran Church, Brattleboro, VT, January 30, 2022 We compare ourselves to others in some direct as well as some subtle ways: appearance, wealth, cars, houses, kids, grandkids. We compare careers, social standing, titles, you name it. The comparison game leaves us yearning for more and better and can be destructive. We push, push, and get all stressed out so then we search for relief: food, drink, distractions like the computer or phone… anything for relief. Jesus comes to us and proclaims – you are loved, you are God’s. You are cherished and unique, special in God’s eyes. That message can free us from the comparison game and all the stress that it fosters. Be healed. Today's worship service was live-streamed from Trinity's Sanctuary to Facebook, with Pastor Jon Heydenreich presiding, Laura Josephs on piano and Marsha Heydenreich singing. No matter who you are in your walk of faith, or where you are in that journey, you are invited to the communion table at Trinity Lutheran Church. Trinity Lutheran Church is an ELCA congregation, more or less traditional and relaxed, and a Reconciling in Christ congregation where all are welcome.
