Description:

A community meeting in Brattleboro, VT on the Healthcare as a Human Right Campaign sponsored by the Vermont Workers Center.  The meeting includes presentations by Shela Linton, Ellen Schwartz and Spoon Agave from the Windham County Organizing Committee for the VWC.

They talked about how to transition to a new system of delivering healthcare, not health insurance.  And about how to hold our government accountable for following through on the healthcare system plans in Act 48.

A panel of three people involved with the delivery of health care were asked questions by Spoon Agave for the VWC and questions from the audience.  Richard Davis, registered nurse and long time universal healthcare advocate; Robin Lunge, Director of Health Care Reform, Agency of Administration at Vermont; and Onye Hawkinson, a health care provider.

Three individuals told their healthcare stories to show the issue personally.

The taped meeting was held on Martin Luther King, Jr Day, observed 2014.  the issues presented are still quite relevant.
