Emergency Forum Legislative on VT Civil Rights 12/12/16

The meeting was an opportunity for individuals and human service agencies to share cocerns with the Windham County Legislators and Senators around several civil rights issues:

Designating Vermont as a Sanctuary State; professional development on implicit bias, particularly in the local and state law enforcement.   How to defend civil rights of students against discrimination at intdependent schools who receive public funds.  Issues around Medicaid, in light of Donald Trump's election.  Civilian oversight of law enforcement training and professional development.

Action plans for working with legislators on these issues were generated.  More meetings to be scheuled in the future.
