Sean Gaskell's Kora Concert

 A native of Olympia, Washington State, and based now in North Carolina,  Sean Gaskell became interested in the West African ancient instrument called Kora, some ten years ago. The Kora is  the native intrument of the Mande peoples of  Gambia, Senegal, Mali, Guinea and Ginea Bissau.

 Gaskell trained with a master of Kora in Gambia, after taking lessons with an American Kora teacher in the States and travels all over the country bringing the the melodic and peaceful music of the Kora to  audiences in  Libraries, schools, and other venues.   On April 15, Gaskell performed and talked about the instrument in this video of his concert at the Brooks Mmeorial Library.
