School Leadership Teams consist of small, diverse groups of students from each middle and elementary school in WSESD. The goal for these teams is to create school communities that are welcoming, with the understanding that academic success relies heavily on an individual sense of safety and inclusivity. The August 3, 2021 Middle School Leadership Training Retreat was a fun and interactive day where the 20 6th-8th grade student participants got to know each other while they explored what it means to be a leader in their schools. The lessons our students learned on the leadership retreat are not only applicable to our school communities, but to any community, they are part of.
