Description:

Post 9-11 Veteran, Chase Stanley led a group of veterans and police officers on a 22 mile walk, symbolic of the average number of military veterans who die each day by suicide. They walked from Newfane, to the Brattleboro Union High School track field, circled the track repeatedly, and completed the 22 miles at the Veterans Memorial Bridge.  The Walk was supported by Brattleboro Elks Lodge #1499 with a breakfast and lunch. Stanley earlier estimated his effort had brought in about $11,500 for veterans and first responder services among which was the Gary Sinise Foundation. Therese Marcy, whose daughter Charlotte Anne Marcy was an Army veteran who died by suicide, walked with Stanley part of the way. (reporting by Chris Mays of the Brattleboro Reformer aided this Description)
