Vermont Truth and Reconciliation Commission – Truth Telling Event 8/16/25
The Vermont Truth and Reconciliation Commission (VTRC) is holding in-person public sessions. These are spaces where Vermonters from communities named in Act 128 can share how state laws or systems have caused them harm.
These sessions are about listening to others. They are about honoring truth, and supporting healing, understanding, and accountability.
Each session focuses on a specific theme. These themes explore different kids of harm and loss. They center real experiences, including those of people with disabilities. Disability is not a separate topic; it is part of every session.
This session looks at how people have moved through their lives — or been blocked from doing so. Topics may include:
– Education, jobs, transportation
– Access to physical and digital spaces
– Experiences of people with disabilities or chronic conditions
