A Beautiful Journey 10/3/19
"A Beautiful Journey" is the brainchild of Jedediah Popp, who sees the storytelling event as a way for people to gain a "fresh perspective" on substance use disorder and those living with it. "I think people only see a part," he said. "They only see the result of substance use. They're not seeing what led up to that. There's the trauma that happened in someone's life. There's just situations beyond their control that people don't see and I think this a really good opportunity that we have for people to talk a little bit about what happened and why they experienced this." Five speakers will appear at the Latchis Theatre in Brattleboro at 7 p.m. Thursday. They will tell their stories for about 15 minutes each followed by a short break and question-and-answer session. There is no admission fee but donations will be accepted. A generous donor contributed funds to rent the space.
