About our guest artist: Teese Gohl

Matthias Gohl is a Swiss musical producer, director, supervisor and composer of film scores and stage productions.  He has produced music for dozens of movies, working with directors such as Joel Schumacher and Michael Mann.  Among the many film scores that Teese has produced are two Oscar-winners -  Elliot Goldenthal's "Frida" (2002) and John Corigliano's "The Red Violin" (1998).

Teese was raised in Winterthur, Switzerland, where he was born into a musical family - his father was a conductor, and his mother a singer.  He first encountered jazz and other forms of American music when he arrived in the US at age 18.  After graduating from Berklee College of Music, Teese stayed in Boston, composing and playing at bars, clubs and private parties.  He worked with bands and theater productions, and for almost twenty years as musical director for Carly Simon, appearing on albums, tours, soundtracks and on television.

Marlboro, VT - based artist Doug Trump began painting in 1976.  His use of paint and collage, employing grids, repeated strokes and fields of color determines his work’s distinctive style.  Each painting is complete within itself, the visual insistence of the piece becoming the narrative, a story or vision entire within each singular work.  Doug has exhibited his abstract mixed media work in oil, pencil and collage thought the US.
