About our guest artists: Lark Holmes and Steve Carmichael

Steve Carmichael has been playing guitar and singing in the Brattleboro area for thirty years, first with the (unimaginitively-named) Steve Carmichael Band, then Jazzberry Jam, and more recently, Electric Fence.  In addition to playing in a duo, he and Lark are putting together a louder band that includes Next Stage co-founder, Billy Straus.  His other quarantined solo and collaborative musical pursuits can be found on his YouTube channel.

Lark Holmes is a singer, songwriter, recording artist and aspiring author joyfully reemerging onto the creative scene after lots of time enjoying mama-hood and other adventures.  From the tender age of eight, Lark has been lending her pipes to every kind of musical endeavor across several corners of the world, and she's happy to be back in full voice.  Lark and Steve are not only building a repertoire of spirit-lifting covers with both duo and band projects, but also launching into a songwriting collaboration that's sure to delight.  In addition, Lark has been spending a good bit of her recent musical life lending voice to meditation practice songs and chants, including collaboration on the soon-to-be-released, "Songs From a Peaceful Heart" by Maine artist and mindfulness facilitator, Lynn Deeves.  Last but not least, Lark is working on two solo projects, including an album of songs created with her children, Cian (9) and Freya (4).  Lark enjoys a life far from the social media fray, but she loves a good ol' fashioned mailing list.  Email her at to stay up-to-date on her creative whereabouts.
