  •  4:20:05 ■ Review and discuss Article 12 (Jane Katz-Field, M.D.): SHALL IT BE RESOLVED, that the town of Putney hereby endorses federal legislation which will provide universal, comprehensive healthcare coverage, with zero cost sharing, for all of our community residents during this crisis, such as the Health Care Emergency Guarantee Acts, and beyond, such as the Medicare-for-All Acts of 2019; and
  • SHALL IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the town of Putney calls on Senator Sanders and Leahy and Representative Welch to work vigorously toward the immediate enactment of this, or similar legislation, thus ensuring healthcare coverage as a basic human right for all Americans.

With appropriate financial and regulatory assistance from State and Federal authorities, the Town of Putney commits to a town-wide effort to combat this imminent threat by:
  •  a). Reducing the release of greenhouse gasses that promote global warming, by promoting zero-carbon electricity, heating, and transportation systems.
  • b). Supporting adaptation and resilience strategies for our residents, in preparation for intensifying local climate impacts.
