What Does It Mean to Be Christian? Trinity Lutheran Church, Brattleboro, VT, January 29, 2023
Luke 17: Jesus said, “The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed… because the kingdom of God is within you.”
We are inclined to say that a “Christian” is one who embraces a certain set of beliefs. Or we can think of “Christian” as a style of life that is centered on the presence of the Spirit within.
Prioritizing living out of that peace sounds selfish. But let's rethink this. When we are at peace we are much more inclined to be kind-hearted people. Living from that place prepares us to be connected in a good way with those around us. Tend to you by tending to the beyond that is within. The kingdom is God is there. Tending to others will flow from this place.
