Artist and Curator Conversation - Charlie Hunter and Eric Aho

Artist Charlie Hunter and curator/artist Eric Aho discuss CHARLIE HUNTER: SEMAPHORE, as well as their shared history with New England’s railroads and broader questions about life and art.
Hunter is best known for his paintings of decaying American infrastructure. A former tour poster designer, album cover designer, and music manager, Hunter now focuses primarily on painting. He holds a B.A. in art from Yale University and has exhibited nationally since 2014.
Aho studied at the Central School of Art and Design in London before receiving his B.F.A. from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. He was granted a Fulbright Scholarship for graduate studies at the Lahti University of Applied Sciences in Finland. His works can be found in the collections of the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
CHARLIE HUNTER: SEMAPHORE is on view at Brattleboro Museum & Art Center June 19-October 22, 2021.
