Slow down and breathe, August 29, 2021, Trinity Lutheran Church, Brattleboro, VT James 1, "Know this...Let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak…" Today's message is about the hazards of moving too fast. Most of us have had the experience of writing an email in haste and pressing “send”…… and then wishing we had not done that. Sometimes we don't do the good we want to do when we move too fast. It takes discipline to keep quiet. Keeping quiet is a way of harnessing some of those “less than gentle” instincts within. Practice. It is a way of living into our more Christ-like potential. Of course, we will never be perfect… which is why we rest on the love and grace of Christ, But we can make progress! Pastor Jon Heydenreich presides, joined by Jeff Herman-May as assistant minister, and Ingrid Lukas-Howe as reader, and Gene Kuch on guitar.
