Today is Pentecost, May 23, 2021, Trinity Lutheran Church, Brattleboro, VT. Fire up the Spirit with us today! What is your Story? Pastor Randy, an ordained pastor for over 50 years, has served Lutheran, Episcopal and UCC congregations in Wisconsin, Dallas, California, Massachusetts and Vermont, and has many stories to share. Today Pastor Randy shares three stories of the healing power of the Spirit. A personal experience at the Benedictine Catholic Monastery in Lucia, CA (where he spent two weeks every year for eight years) when the Spirit washed over and healed him, a story about a spinal chord injury patient who Pastor Randy ministered as hospital chaplain, and a story about a reluctant teenager in Pastor Randy's group on a wilderness hiking and canoe trip. Stories of Spirit in the monastery, the hospital and the wilderness. Pentecost is about the healing power of the spirit. What is your story? Pastor Randall Wilburn presides, Ron Solberg is assistant minister today, Kris Grotz-Kuch and Micaela Carlton Newton are our readers today, and Laura Josephs is on piano. Ron Solberg and Laura Josephs leads singing "On Eagle's Wings" as a special dedication to Pastor Randy's wife Karin Wilburn. Pastor Randy has served as our Intentional Interim Pastor since October 2019 and today is Pastor Randy and Karin's second-to-last Sunday with us. After a well-deserved vacation in June, Pastor Randy will begin service as Intentional Interim Pastor at Trinity Episcopal Church in Ware, MA. We will miss Pastor Randy and Karin terribly.
