This video is a worship service at First Congregational Church of West Brattleboro in Vermont for March 21, 2021. It is the Fifth Sunday in Lent. The scripture passage for today is John 12:20-25. The key verse which is the focus of the service is the following -- "Very truly, I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains just a single grain; but if it dies, it bears much fruit." The sermon title is "Get Out of Your Shell," where we explore the importance of risk-taking in our faith and in our life. If the wheat does not risk dying, future wheat can never live. So too it is with us, No risk - no gain - no life. The hymns for the morning are "God of Grace and God of Glory," "In the Bulb There Is a Flower," "You Have Called Me" and "Jesus Remember Me." Service music on the organ is played by Bill McKim and includes "Interlude No. 12" by Karg-Elert, "The Lord Bless You" played by Ruth Chamberlain on flute, and "Toccata in 'C'" by J. Pachelbel.
