This video is a worship service at First Congregational Church in West Brattleboro Vermont, lead by Rev Audrey Walker, pastor. The scripture passage for the morning is the story of Jesus healing the man with leprosy, found in Mark 1:40-45. The title of the sermon is "If You Are Willing..." In the story, Jesus is willing to touch and heal the man and makes him "clean" in the eyes of society. Since people with leprosy were not to be touched, the man was shunned by society and left with no human contact. He was treated less than human. But through Jesus' healing, the man was given life and restored to a place in society. Through our imitation of Jesus, we can also "be willing" to reach out and "touch" the least, the last, and the lost in our society and even if we cannot heal them, we can show them love, kindness, and acceptance, even for a time, and restore in them as sense of being worthy of love.
