Dummerston Traditional Memorial Day 5/30/19

Dummerston's Evening Star Grange continues the tradition of the observance of Memorial Day with a program on May 30th annually. Cindy Jerome was Master of Ceremonies, Larry Lynch jr. , Master of EveningStar Grange extended welcome to those who attended, Brattleboro Post 5 American Legion Band provided music, as did Rev. Shawn Bracebridge, pianist, Garry Sharon sang Ballad of the Green Beret, Sally May read "They came to the Wall", E.David Wright, Chaplin, VFW Post 1034 read Gen. Logan's Address of May 5, 1868 establishing this annual observance, former P.O.W. Richard Hamilton, U.S.A.F, WWII was recognized, as were all veterans in attendance who each were given American flags, Guest Speaker was Dr. Robert Tortolani a triage physician in the army during the Vietnam War. Vietnam Veteran Frank Weatherbee, Airborne, USA, Ernie Perham,USA, and Tristim Johnson, USAF, all Vietnam Veterans, also spoke. Presentation of the Colors was by Brattleboro VFW Post 1034 Color Guard and its auxiliary.
