From Carnival organizers: The Queen’s Pageant has been a long standing, cherished and anticipated event of the Brattleboro Winter Carnival for 62 years. It is a scholarship pageant where the contestants are judged on their talent, a solo interview with the judges, and a play suit (sports outfit). In addition to competing for the positions of Queen, 1st Runner Up and 2nd Runner Up, all contestants have the opportunity to write an essay and compete for the Essay scholarship.  This being our last year, we chose to give two essay awards, as well as a Miss Photogenic, Miss Congeniality, two Director awards and a Fan Favorite award. The Brattleboro Winter Carnival supports and encourages these young women to volunteer in their community and wishes them the very best for the future.
