BCTV is a co-sponsor of the Young Filmmakers Showcase on November 7 at 7 PM at Headroom Stages. This is a new event as part of the Brattleboro Film Festival, now in its third year. Festival organizers talk about all that's happening in this studio roundtable.
The 2014 Year in Review Video Montage was premiered at the Annual Meeting on October 1 to a packed house of members, volunteers and producers. Almost everyone in the room was in the montage, an 8-minute feel-good video portrait of the past year at BCTV.
We hate to brag, but BCTV's members' meeting is not your average "annual meeting." Whether or not you're a BCTV member, join us in our all-HD studio for a light supper, multi-media "State of the Station" Report, super-hyped Year in Review video montage (winner of two national awards!), thrilling Producer Awards ceremony -- all this before getting down to the business of voting on bylaw amendments and voting in new board members.
Watch Live at 7 PM on Sept. 4 by clicking the video link as Dr. Temple Grandin addresses the Landmark College community at Greenhoe Theatre in Putney. The Landmark Communications office explains the reason behind asking BCTV to produce a live webcast as well as recording the talk:
BCTV's Production Manager Roland Boyden gives a quick summary of local primary voting results. Check our Video Library for coverage of candidate forums prior to the vote.
Every year, BCTV's Production Manager Roland Boyden sits down to pull together clips and highlights for a "montage reel" for the Members Meeting in October. What may sound like a somewhat rote editing exercise becomes, in his hands, an opportunity for storytelling. This is the second time in the past three years that Roland's montage video has won a Hometown Video Award from the Alliance for Community Media, a national organization of which BCTV is a member.
BCTV volunteers and staff recorded the plenary sessions from the 2014 Slow Living Summit, held June 4-6 in the Latchis Theatre. The presentations were unique in that each speaker had an artistic collaborator who accompanied and enhanced the talk. Watch on Channel 8 over the next few weeks, or go to our Video Library to find Slow Living Summit plenaries from the past three years:
