You've heard the moo-ving puns, you've seen the cow-themed hats -- put them both together and you get this colorful Open Studio roundtable with the founders and organizers of the Strolling of the Heifers Parade. This year's theme is "Love Your Farmer," and the Strolling team has activities organized all weekend long to celebrate farming and farmers in Vermont. Watch this year's parade live on BCTV Channel 8 - kicking it off live at 9:45 AM on June 6 to catch the Dairy Godmother making her appearance prior to the parade at 10.

Local Iraq War veteran John Lowery joins American Legion Post 5 Chairman Tom Costello and WTSA's Tim Johnson talking about the lecture series on Sunday, May 24, commemorating the 150th anniversary of the end of the Civil War.  Monday's Memorial Day ceremony features Greenwood School students recognizing each of the 46 local soldiers who died in the War. Find out more by watching the video.

More than 50 public access television staffers and board members gathered in BCTV's Studio for the annual meeting of Vermont Access Network (VAN) on May 1. The day started with a business meeting for the nonprofit, which connects 25 Community Media Centers that together operate 49 local cable channels statewide. According to vermontaccess.net, VAN Members use emerging communications technologies to foster free speech, encourage civic engagement, enhance public discourse, and allow elected officials and community members to communicate better.

This semester's Broadcast Journalism class of Landmark College students was so diligent and professional that we became concerned there would be no bloopers. But amidst the many takes, Production Manager Roland Boyden managed to find a few frames where things didn't go exactly as planned. And because most people in the world prefer blooper reels (and cat videos) to any other content, we are featuring this instead of the serious work of the students, which you watch here.
