She speaks around the country on a range of topics from conservation cemeteries to caring for our own dead. This lecture covers the fascinating history of funerals in America from the old tradition of home funerals and burials to the rise of embalming and the creation of the funeral profession, and then the return to natural burial occurring today. Different alternatives from burial at sea to composting centers are discussed. Resources for shrouds and options for caskets, the paperwork necessary for transporting the body, planning and advanced directives are all touched on in this presentation.
