Chicken? You Gotta Be Kidding 3/13/22

The scripture for the day is Luke 13:1-9 where Jesus laments over Jerusalem. The title of the sermon is "Chicken? You Gotta Be Kidding." The sermon is based on verse 34 – "Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often have I desired to gather your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing! " In this text Jesus uses the image of a chicken, a mother hen, to describe himself. The sermon explains the many ways Jesus/God is like a mother hen.
