Special Meeting: Ken Schatz, Vermont Commissioner of Department of Children and Families will join Families United in a listening session. The commissioner will be available to listen to peoples stories, and concerns and ask questions. Impacted families will be prioritized at this meeting.

 

Our Regular Meeting: Families United is a peer support group for people who have been impacted by the DCF systems and want to make a change. We meet the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Wednesday of the month at The Root Social Justice Center. (use to meet at Turning Point) This event is free and open to parents, foster parents, children, siblings, grandparents, and STRONG allies who have been affected by DCF and want to help make a change. This is a safe, confidential supportive space and will be taken seriously at every meeting. Members will share experiences, build relationships, discuss resources, and organize to influence change in DCF, family court, and the legislative system. This is an ongoing potluck gathering. If you are able to bring something to share, please do. We will also pass the hat. Childcare will be provided on site with notice.
