Description:

On April 18, EMF Safety For Vermont, a Brattleboro based group, hosted an open public meeting at the VT Statehouse to present our concerns about 5G and wireless technology. The meeting was attended by 40 people. Part 1 features the expert testimony of Annette Smith of Vermonters for a Clean Environment (VCE.org) and statements by the members of EMF Safety For Vermont.  The Vermont Senate is about to vote on bill H.513. We strongly support the idea of rural broadband but would like to see it done safely with fiber. We are asking for the removal of Section 19a (1) and (2) from bill H.513 because this section allows 5G to be implemented under the cover of broadband. Even though 5G is not specifically mentioned in bill H.513, as currently written it would give the Telecom companies the freedom to install 5G whenever and wherever they want. We are also asking not to allow the attachment of 5G antennas on poles and towers, including 4G transmitters that can be easily upgraded to 5G wirelessly by updating the software. We think that given the many health studies that have been done including the 16 year $25 million US Toxicology study proving cancer and other diseases in rats that there is ample evidence at this point to slow down the rush to rollout 5G in VT.  For more info or to see how you can help please contact emfsafetyforvermont@gmail.com
