Description:

The program begins with "Invasive Insects: A Dire Threat to Vermont Forests, What's Happening and How You Can Help." Presented by Jim Esden, a forester for the Vermont Dept. of Forests, Parks, and Recreation.

It is followed by the annual meeting of the Joint Conservation Commissions hosted by the Dummerston Conservation Commission. Each Conservation Commission reports on their projects with discussion to enhance understanding.  These meetings encourage people to expand their ideas about what is possible, and paves the way for collaboration and working on projects together that need more than a local approach. Representatives attended from the Bonnyvale Environmental Education Center and the Windham Regional Commission and spoke about their project, and about how they can be helpful to the Conservation Commissions.
