Description:

Today's video has some sobering #COVID19VT facts. Vermonters of all ages are testing positive. This is an equal opportunity virus.#COVID19VT cases by age in Vermont as of today:

  • 80+yo=59
  • 70-70=72
  • 60-69=95
  • 50-59=105
  • 40-49=78
  • 30-39=81
  • 20-29=72
  • 10-19=13
  • Total=575.

42% of positive cases are 49yo or younger and they were only tested because symptoms were bad enough to need a test. To me, these stats mean many MORE younger people have been infected than tested. With the nice weather, we are seeing more Vermonters still NOT not social distancing...letting kids intermingle and hang out. If any of these young people have been infected, they could be vectors and spreading it without even knowing it. It can be tempting to send kids outside, but right now the #StayAtHome order is meant to prevent infections. Regardless of age, everyone can be spreading this virus.I share this not to scare people, rather to remind everyone we all need to do our part to keep each other safe. That is why we are #InThisTogether.See you tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. for more updates. Links for the stats above and how to watch the very brief in person Senate session tomorrow are in the comments of the video. If you have questions or ideas to continue to respond to this crisis email me at: tashe@leg.state.vt.us
