Description:

The new bridge connecting Brattleboro to Hinsdale began in New Hampshire with tree clearing, utility relocation, bridge abutment work, pier work, and temporary trestle construction as a means to safely progress construction across the Conneticut River and into Vermont. Reed & Reed, Inc. of Woolwich, Maine is the general contractor for the $61.2 million project which has an anticipated completion date of October 25, 2024. The new bridge will span the Conneticut River just downstream from the Anna Hunt Marsh and Charles Dana bridges. The old bridges will be rehabilitated for pedestrian use.

Part 1 shows the pile driving of an I-beam deep into the river bottom,  another I-beam being delivered on the busy road, tree cutting, the operating large cranes, backhoes, and other construction equipment, a view from the future terminus of the bridge on the Vermont side of the river, and the view from a drive across the present old bridges.
