Description:

April is Sexual Violence Awareness month and the Women's Freedom Center is hosting a Take Back the Night rally, march, and candlelight vigil.

On April 27th, we're collaborating with a neighboring sister program for our annual Take Back the Night rally, march, and candlelight vigil in Brattleboro. We'll be joined on the Brattleboro Common at 6 pm by New England Learning Center for Women in Transition(NELCWIT) in Western Massachusetts.

This night has two vital and related aims: showing solidarity for survivors, and challenging the culture that fuels sexual assault. We'll have some musical guests before heading together on a peaceful protest march through town with banners, bullhorns, chanting, and all manner of lively inspiration. Come alone or with friends, bring a protest sign if you like, or help carry one of those already made by volunteers.

We will end back at the Commons with a candlelit vigil. This circle is a collective chance to grieve and to heal, to speak out, read a poem, sing a song, or just stand in silent support as witness to whatever is shared.
