Description:
TheBrattleboro Music Center’s Music School Faculty Showcase celebrates both the wide interests and backgrounds of the faculty and the life of long time faculty member David Tasgal who died unexpectedly last fall.
This concert brings together 16 faculty performing works from the Baroque to the present. Included are a string trio, a vocal duet, a brass trio, a clarinet Concertino, and original works for folk chamber ensemble.
The program includes:
- Jennifer Hansen and Alisa Hauser accompanied by Susan Dedell: Craig Carnelia – Flight
- Robin Matathias and Susan Dedell: Ian Clarke – Hypnosis, Rhonda Larson – The Way of the River
- Karen Horton, Riley Goodemote and Rob Freeberg: Francis Poulenc – Sonata for Brass Trio
- Michelle Liechti, Heather Sommerlad and Peggy Spencer: Antonin Dvorák – Terzetto Op. 74
- Bill Shontz accompanied by Hugh Keelan: Carl Maria Von Weber – Concertino in Eb Op. 26
- Alex Ogle accompanied by Carol Compton: Frederick the Great, Sonata in C Minor
- Larry Allen Brown & the Acoustic Earth Orchestra (Dave Duhon, cello; Martin Corbin, mandolin; Bill Martin, bass)
- Robin Matathias, Alex Ogle and Susan Dedell: Ian Clarke, maya
