Description:

Join authors Robin MacArthur and Jensen Beach as they speak at 118 Elliot Street as part of the 2016 Brattleboro Literary Festival.

Robin MacArthur is a writer, musician and mother who lives in a self-built house in Southern Vermont on the land where she was born.  She is the author of HALF WILD: STORIES, (Ecco, August 2016), and the editor of CONTEMPORARY VERMONT FICTION (Green Writers Press, 2014). She is one half of the musical duo Red Heart the Ticker, alongside her husband, Tyler Gibbons. She received an MFA in Fiction from Vermont College of Fine Arts  and a BA from Brown University, and two creation grants from the Vermont Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts.

When not writing, she spends her time prying rocks out of unruly garden soil, picking blackberries and raspberries outside her back door, and traipsing through woods with her big-hearted and half-wild children.

Jensen Beach is the author of two story collections, most recently Swallowed by the Cold. He holds an MFA in fiction from the Program for Poets and Writers at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, as well as an MA and BA in English from Stockholm University. He teaches in the BFA program at Johnson State College, where he also is the fiction editor of Green Mountains Review. He’s also a faculty member in the MFA Program in Writing and Publishing at VCFA. His writing has appeared recently in A Public Space, Cincinnati Review, Fifty-Two Stories, Ninth Letter, the Paris Review, and The New Yorker, and online at Tin House, N+1, Kenyon Review, and American Short Fiction, among others.  He lives in Vermont with his wife and children.
