Poets Albert Abonado and Dzvinia Orlowsky

Albert Abonado’s Field Guide for Accidents is an irreverent poetry collection that wrestles with questions of family, mortality, cultural history, and identity from the Filipinx American experience. Ukrainian American poet Dzvinia Orlowsky is a witness, never a bystander, in Those Absences Now Closest, ready to stare down the demons, to “cut yourself with a dull razor.” She sets up house among the nightmares of intergenerational trauma and, as far as anyone can, humanizes them.

Albert Abonado is the author of the poetry collection JAW and the Field Guide for Accidents, selected by Mahogany Browne for the National Poetry Series.

Dzvinia Orlowsky is a Ukrainian American poet, translator, editor, and teacher. She is the author of six poetry collections. She lives in Marshfield, Massachusetts.
