Laurel Neme (2014)

Join Laurel Neme at the Brattleboro Museum and Art Center for this 2014 Brattleboro Literary Festival talk that focuses on Neme's extensive work in the animal kingdom, from her time camping in the Kalahari, to investigating walrus carcasses on Alaska’s Bering Sea beaches, getting lost in the Amazon jungle with the Brazilian Federal Police–all in pursuit of knowledge and a better story.

Laurel Neme is the author of Animal Investigators: How the World’s First Wildlife Forensics Lab is Solving Crimes and Saving Endangered Species, a “CSI for wildlife” that has been featured on ABC News Nightline, C-SPAN and NPR’s Science Friday. She is a contributor to National Geographic, and also hosts “The WildLife,” a weekly radio show that explores the mysteries of the animal world through interviews with scientists and other wildlife investigators. Laurel is working on a second adult non-fiction book and is awaiting publication of her first picture book “with a purpose”,  Orangutan Houdini.
