Jay Parini (2014)

Jay Parini speaks on his books in this talk entitled 'The Human Face of God' during this October 4, 2014 presentation of the Brattleboro Literary Festival hosted at Brooks Memorial Library.

Jay Parini is a poet, novelist, biographer, and critic and is the Axinn Professor of English at Middlebury College, Vermont. He is the author of five books of poetry, eight novels, three biographies (including Robert Frost, John Steinbeck and William Faulkner) plus other books of non-fiction including Jesus: The Human Face of God. In 2009, his novel The Last Station was turned into an Academy Award-nominated film.  Parini has won various fellowships and awards, including a Guggenheim (1993-1994) and, for his Frost biography, the Chicago Tribune-Heartland Award in 2000.

I agree to hold harmless and indemnify BCTV, its Board of Directors, and employees from any liability, loss, claim, cost, or damage of any nature stemming from the telecast of the program, including all legal fees and expenses involved in defending such a claim or action. Should a dispute arise between myself and BCTV which cannot be resolved by direct negotiation, I agree that my sole and final recourse will be arbitration by the Vermont Public Service Board. e. I agree to abide by all BCTV Policies and Procedures.
