Bradley House Groundbreaking Ceremony 5/1/17

Renovation & Expansion of Brattleboro’s Bradley House Underway, with Technical Assistance from Cathedral Square

To the cheers of town officials and local residents, Governor Phil Scott joined government leaders, lenders, developers and others at a groundbreaking ceremony Monday, May 1, marking the official start of a major renovation and expansion of Bradley House, a residential-care facility for seniors in Brattleboro.

The nonprofit, South Burlington-based Cathedral Square Corporation (CSC), a national leader in the development of affordable, service-enriched housing communities for seniors and individuals with special needs, is providing technical assistance for the project.

Governor Scott praised those who collaborated to make the project a reality, saying it represents Vermont’s commitment to quality, affordable housing that provides a high level of care to Vermont elders regardless of income. Originally built in the 1860s, Bradley House is a nonprofit residence that currently serves 28 predominantly low-income residents who receive licensed care in a homelike setting. Capacity will increase to 36 residents after construction.
