Gov Peter Shumlin and VT Agency of Commerce & Community Development Secretary Patricia Moulton visit Brattleboro to present $814,000 in grants to Windham County organizations, part of year-one money from the state's agreement with Entergy Nuclear following the closing of the Vermont Yankee power plant in Vernon.
Recipients include:Bellows Falls Area Development Corp's Island Redevelopment, Brattleboro Development Credit Corp's Green Building/Accelerator, Sustainable Timber Investment Exchanges' Advanced Practice Training, Strolling of the Heifers' Business Plan Competition and United Way of Windham County's Working Bridges Program.
