American Legion Band: The renowned 50-strong Brattleboro American Legion Band, known for their expert and entertaining parade marching, has been entertaining audiences all over Vermont and New England for over 25 years. Learn more about who we are and what we do, and join the band today!

Big Brothers/Big Sisters: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Windham County is an affiliate of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, the oldest and largest mentoring organization in the country. Our program has been providing quality one-to-one adult-to-child mentoring programs for children age 6-18 throughout Windham County for the past 42 years. We are always looking for outstanding community members to serve as Bigs and help change the life of a child for the better forever!

Boys and Girls Club: The Boys & Girls Club provides a safe place for youth to learn and grow, develop ongoing relationships with caring adult professionals, engage in life-enhancing programs, character development experiences, and create hope and opportunity.

Brattleboro Coop: The Brattleboro Food Co-op was formed in 1975 as a small buying club. Today, the Co-op is a 14,580 square foot natural foods market and deli and owned by over 7,000 community members. You can become an owner today through many of your Shareholder programs either way all are welcome to shop!

Brattleboro Floral Arts & Garden Club: This all volunteer group focuses on promoting an interest in gardening, providing educational opportunities to club members and the public, encouraging participation in floral design, and encouraging and undertaking civic beautification projects.

Brattleboro Memorial Hospital - Volunteers: Every day, everywhere in the hospital, volunteers add to the caring environment at BMH, helping patients and their families at a stressful and sometimes frightening time in their lives making BMH a friendlier, more welcoming place to everyone who steps foot on our campus.

Brattleboro Outing Club: A great opportunity to join and participate in affordable outdoor activities year-round through its four distinctive programs: Cross Country Skiing/snowshoeing; paddling, rowing and tennis

Brattleboro Recreation and Parks: The function of the Recreation & Parks Department is to provide both active and passive recreational opportunities through program planning and park facilities.

Brattleboro Section, Green Mountain Club: The Brattleboro Section of the Green Mountain Club maintains about 9 miles of the Long (and Appalachian) Trail and two shelters south of Bromley Mountain. We sponsor work outings on our section of the trail in May and November, and a wide variety of day and overnight hikes, bicycle and canoe trips, and cross-country ski tours throughout the year. New members are always welcome.

Brattleboro Senior Center: Brattleboro Senior Meals provides the greater Brattleboro area with Meals on Wheels & daily congregate meals at their location in the Gibson Aiken Center, right here in downtown Brattleboro!

Brooks Memorial Library: Connects people with resources, (books, media, information, and experiences) to educate, entertain, and enhance their lives.

Brooks Memorial Library (Friends of the Library) :The Friends support Brooks Memorial Library through advocacy, public relations, and fundraising in providing the highest quality library services to the community. Friends membership is open to all. Great Books Club Meets at the Brooks Memorial Library.

Green Mountain Camp: Green Mountain Camp is a century old but timeless summer camp tucked in the hills of Dummerston, just across the covered bridge. GMC nurtures friendships, creates memories, develops skills, and strengthens confidence while empowering girls to believe in themselves and their ability to make a difference in the world!

Homegrown by Heroes: Homegrown By Heroes (HBH) is the official farmer veteran branding program of America. The HBH logo serves to inform consumers that products donning the logo were produced by military veterans.

Kiwanis Club of Brattleboro:  A service organization comprised of caring men and women from all walks of life. Our objective is to bring aid to children in need.

Living Memorial Park Snow Sports: A non-profit, all volunteer organization that runs and maintains the ski area at the park. Our mission is to make skiing affordable, quality, and fun in the Brattleboro area. We operate a T-bar surface lift on a hill that’s appropriate for beginners and intermediates

Meeting Waters YMCA: We strengthen the foundations of community through youth development, healthy living, social responsibility and family strengthening. As the region’s largest provider of state-licensed school-age programs, our Y-ASPIRE and Y Day Camp programs are helping all kids learn, grow and thrive through intentional programming that aims to close the achievement gap, reduce childhood obesity, strengthen families, and engage youth and their families in service to their community.

Southeastern Vermont Audubon Society: Your source for information about birds and birding throughout the Connecticut River Valley.

Southern Vermont Young Professionals: The Southern Vermont Young Professionals Group is a coalition of 22-45 year olds looking to develop a stronger sense of community for young people in the Windham Region. The vision is to introduce both college students and young professionals to a network of people who sponsor diverse opportunities, including recreational activities as well as professional development offerings.

Sunrise Rotary Club: We meet Wednesdays at 7:15 AM, The American Legion Post 5, 32 Linden Street


The Gathering Place: The Gathering Place provides Adult Day and other services to promote empowerment, independence and quality of TGP for elders, adults with disabilities and their caregivers. We are dedicated to fostering collaborative community partnerships. We provide services for Home Care and at our Adult Day center at 30 Terrace Street, Brattleboro VT. United Way of Windham County: United Way of Windham County improves lives by mobilizing the caring power of the community. Warrior Connection: Since 2010, The Warrior Connection (TWC) has been working diligently with our Veterans to decrease the negative impacts of Post-Traumatic Stress (PTSD), heal moral injuries, and reduce suicide. TWC hosts retreats in East Dummerston, VT and provides services with the mission of helping Veterans and their families recover from the invisible injuries incurred while in uniform. Veterans have attended retreats from 24 states.West River Radio Club: Amateur radio is a hobby with millions of participants around the world that use radio transmitters and receivers to communicate with other Amateur radio operators.


Windham County Humane Society: The Windham County Humane Society (WCHS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of animals and enhancing the relationship between individuals and pets through adoption, education, advocacy, compassion and promotion of animal welfare.

Windham County Guardian ad Litem: Guardians ad Litem are independent, Court-appointed advocates for children who are involved in Court hearings. The Guardian ad Litem becomes the voice of the child and speaks consistently to the child’s best interest.”

Windham World Affairs Council: An all-volunteer council that host international affairs events free of charge to the public. Our goal is to help you better understand the issues and problems our world is facing. In this way we hope to contribute to the creation of a livable, peaceful, better world in which we are prepared to participate knowledgeably in public affairs and make informed choices in elections.

Women’s Freedom Center: The Women’s Freedom Center is the local organization in Windham and Southern Windsor County working to end domestic and sexual violence. WVEW Radio: WVEW is Brattleboro's Community Radio Station. We are independent, commercial-free, all-access radio and we are celebrating our tenth anniversary this year
